Community Economy Development Hubs
A Community Economy Hub is where our work takes place. It is the local infrastructure through which a community becomes the economic agent of its own prosperity. Co-designed with community members, on their own ground, and stewarded by them and What Matters.
Each Hub is implementation and research at once. Complementary businesses are built, value begins to circulate, and what we learn about how community economies actually grow feeds back into our work itself.
From community to community.
Our Role
A Hub does not start itself. When a community is ready, we help start the Hub by bringing the methodology and the first push. The unique structure emerges from there. We mentor community leaders until the Hub runs on its own capacity. We build toward our own withdrawal. A Hub succeeds when it no longer needs us for core stability.
